We just learned about what sounds like a cool long weekend event up in the Sierras called the Highpipe Festival. While, yes, it is clearly geared toward all things scrambler related (and we love scramblers), it appears to be pertinent to anyone who just likes to get up in the mountains on two wheels. Asphalt and dirt apply.

Here are some quick bits about what happens from June 9-11:

Start your journey by picking your favorite ride to China Peak. Once you arrive, you can hike, demo bikes from Honda, Bell, and BMW, participate in the Motorcyclist Scrambler Rodeo, imbibe at Happy Hour, and party on the deck with outdoor movies.

On Saturday, you can get an early start and go hiking up to Indian Pools and other locations. Participate in the Best of the Sierra Scavenger Hunt, see the showcase of attendees’ bikes and bikes from top builders invited by Cycle World, Street Chopper and Cruiser. After lunch is the Bridgestone HillClimb by REVER. Ride the slopes with twists and turns to the Buck Horn Bar & Grill up the mountain. Spectators can take a chairlift up to Buck Horn to watch the time trials. Awards and live entertainment finish the night.

After breakfast on Sunday, demo the bikes you didn’t get to the other two days laugh at the participants in the Motorcyclist Scrambler Rodeo.

HighPipe ends at 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 11, and you get all of this for a $10 a day entry fee!
