Texas is a big, make that huge, state, which makes it too hard to confine any eating suggestions to just one place. A quick search led us to the appropriately titled article from the Dallas Observer — 30 Essential Texas Restaurants to Visit Before You Die.
By separating the list into regions like Gulf, Panhandle, Hill Country and Prairie & Lakes, you’ll at least have a way of finding what you might like depending on where you might be riding. From there the list gives way to eclectic mix of food from Japanese farmhouse to Mexican to BBQ to something called puffy tacos. Evidently, the latter is a San Antonio original and favorite.
While some of these restaurants might seem pricey, there’s still enough choices to keep it light on the pocket book if you need to. And at some point, you can only eat so much BBQ!
