If you still haven’t planned your summer vacation this riding season, you can head to the Black Hills National Forest, and a trip to the Sturgis Rally doesn’t even have to be on the agenda.

With over 500 miles of trail going through mixed forest with elevation changes from 4500 to 6500 feet, there are plenty of opportunities to get back in it on two wheels.

You will need a permit – $20 per rider for a week or $25 for the year. There are also campgrounds throughout, but those will require a separate Forest Service campground fee that will range from $10-20 a night. Everything closes down for the year after December 14, so you still have some time to check it out.
