If you decide to start and end this issue’s route in Durango, CO, we found more than a few places to chow down for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Brew pubs tend to be more biker friendly, so we settled on one of the first to catch our eye — the Carver Brewing Company.
Here’s a bit of history from their site:
“In 1988 Carvers opened the brewery – making it the first brewery in the four corners region since prohibition. Although still known affectionately by the locals as ‘Carvers’, Carvers then became Carver Brewing Company. Turns out we were just a few months short of claiming the first Brewpub in Colorado. We went on a River Trip down the Grand Canyon instead, so we became the second Brewpub in Colorado.”
With nine different types of beer and multiple variations of those, we highly recommend ending the day here!
To start the day, we’d go with their Breakfast Bowl – choice of tinga chicken or chorizo, eggs the way you like them, brown rice, black beans, veggies, roasted poblano, ranchero sauce and tomato. Cheat and chase it down with their Jack Rabbit Pale Ale!
