Unless you’ve lived under a rusted out crankcase the last 60 years, you’ve heard of Route 66.  At some point, taking that route ends up on a biker’s bucket list and finding a place to eat is a necessity. And along that route are probably tens of thousands of diners and fast food restaurants — many of them with Route 66 in the name. One that came up in several searches is the Route 66 Diner in Santa Rosa, New Mexico — a small town about half way between Albuquerque, NM and Amarillo, TX. Route 66 Restauant in Santa Rosa

Serving a combo of American and Mexican food, this place came up several times as a great place to grab breakfast or lunch. The smothered breakfast burrito (pictured) is evidently a big favorite as are the huevos rancheros.

We’ll keep it in mind for a long summer road trip.
