It’s that time of year when the wish lists come out and the pocket books with them. More often than not, these lists are pretty predictable – new clothes, new bike bling, etc.

But in the short time Asphalt & Dirt has been published, we’ve already come across some items we thought were worth adding that might break up the predictability. And all of these products are designed and made in the USA. Here you go:

For the Bike:

2013 Harley Ultra Classic - Orange BikeSheathBike Sheath

There are times on the road when you’d like to cover your bike but don’t want to cover the entire thing or don’t have the room for a full cover. The Bike Sheath solves that with the ability to just cover the seat and tank. Different models are available to cover the backrests, too, including tour packs found on the Harley Davidson Electra Glide. Each one is custom made for your particular bike.

With versions available for all of the main Japanese models, as well as Harley, Triumph and Victory, plus multiple color combinations, there’s a Bike Sheath for nearly every rider. List price starts at $74.95.

Butty BuddyButty Buddy

Okay, so this is way more for your passenger than for your bike, but both will be thankful for it. Face it, most passenger seats are basically too thin, too hard, or too small. Butty Buddy solves that problem with a portable seat that spans a full 13.5 inches, and gives your passenger the cushioning and proper shape necessary to support the posterior and lower back. It’s not nicknamed “the thousand mile seat” for nothing.

It attaches over an existing seat that’s no more than 11 inches wide or and there’s a version that fits over most bare fenders with a special suction cup kit. It will literally fit on just about any kind of bike. List price for the regular Butty Buddy is $149.95.

Cyron H-4 Headlight bulb

h4A lot of stock headlight bulbs don’t put the amount of light, we’d sometimes like them to. So consequently, a lot of bikers start adding all kinds of lights to their bike. That’s one solution – albeit an expensive one. The other option is to change out the stock headlight for something like the Cyron H4. This LED bulb is rated at 6000k and 2500 lumens, they should do the job in lighting up the night. Remember this is a retrofit, not a replacement bulb. The kit comes with adapters to help fit this to 90% of most motorcycle makes. Consult your manual before buying. List price is $69.95

Product_Pic_1_1024x1024Gear Brake

One of the biggest problems cagers have when following a bike is picking up on the fact that you’re slowing down when you downshift because there’s no brake light to tell them. Gear Brake solves that problem by flashing your brake lights whether you’re downshifting or applying your brakes. You’ll make yourself more visible and put cagers on notice when they’re on your tail. Install kits using factory connectors are available for most models. List price is $69.95.

XX15_SS_0111_zpsee4b4b47Xena XX15 Disc Lock/Alarm

We hate to think about, but bikes do get stolen. The old-fashioned chain and lock might work on occasion, but why not up the ante with a disc lock and alarm — especially one with a piercing 120db sound that will get someone’s attention.  Highly sensitive to motion and with a carbide-reinforced hardened-steep pin construction, the Xena XX15 has been named best in class by numerous reviewers.  List price is $79.95.
